Talents for Tomorrow: How Local Governments Can Address Emerging Challenges?

European cities and regions face an array of new challenges, including climate change, advancements in artificial intelligence, and issues related to energy and water management, among others. City-to-city and region-to-region cooperation has proven to be an effective way to identify and shape solutions to common challenges, circulate know-how, and foster the institutional development of local governments. However, the ability to fully capitalise on and harness the potential of such cooperation will depend heavily on today’s strategies in developing and cultivating knowledgeable talents who besides being equipped with the right background of knowledge and expertise are also capable and possess the right skills on International and European affairs for influencing, shaping, and implementing impactful policies.
